IMDB Synopsis: A celebrated military contractor returns to the site of his greatest career triumphs and reconnects with a long-ago love while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watch-dog assigned to him.
I find myself at odds with audiences and critics again. This time it is with the movie “Aloha”, the latest from Cameron Crowe. It is strange because the first couple of scenes from the film had me almost lost me but then I suddenly found myself absorbed by the characters. It is a sneaky film for sure and Crowe’s best since “Almost Famous”. I didn’t much care for his last flick, “We Bought A Zoo”.
I can’t really explain this one. The story is a bit of a mess and the dialogue is sometimes not much help. I just found that the performances by the cast were really good in a very subtle way. Also the Hawaiian locations really sucked me right in. This film isn’t so much set in Hawaii as it is surrounded by it.
