Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 *

Any good will that was built up with me from the first half of “Breaking Dawn” was destroyed with this second half. What a pointless movie this is. The story is hanging together by a thread. You could have just taken the last scene of this movie and tacked it on to the first half and it would have made no difference what so ever.

The plot involves the head vampires called the Volturi who come all the way from Italy to Forkes Washington to kill the Cullen clan. This is all based on a misunderstanding that is pretty much rectified by a long drawn out discussion.

Prior to that we get a pretty nasty battle between the rival vampire groups, with a few wolves thrown in for good measure, that turns out to be a false ending. I can’t tell you how much it pisses me off when crucial events that we see are actually taking place in someone’s mind.

And what is with the rating on this movie? Since when does multiple decapitations and a baby being thrown in to a fire only get a PG-13 rating? I wouldn’t let my 13 year old see this disturbing film. Especially when one of the adult characters keeps following around the infant with the look of a pedophile. I am referring of course to Jacob the werewolf and Renesmee the infant half breed of Edward and Bella. The last movie got a big laugh when Jacob imprinted his love on to the baby minutes after it was born.

I for one am glad this franchise is coming to a close. Five movies seems like enough for a love story. I just can’t believe how unnecessary this entry was. Not to say some of the prior ones were much better but at least they pushed the central plot along at an excruciatingly slow pace.
