“Drive Angry” is a piss poor excuse for a movie. It is a cheap attempt to try to cash in on this current 3D trend. All the action and violence is geared towards throwing body parts and bullets at the screen.
The talent in front of the cameras includes Nicolas Cage, William Fichtner, David Morse and Billy Burke. They all deserve a better movie then this. These guys could have really chewed the screen up in a truly bad ass “Road Warrior” type of flick, but director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer can’t cook up anything better.
The plot is a pointless mess stringing together a series of lame death scenes. The dialogue is about as bone headed as it gets and the direction has zero inspiration.
All of this is served up in a unnecessary third dimension. How anybody can dream of charging a surcharge for this kind of garbage is beyond me.
