“Mesrine: Public Enemy No.1” is a continuation of “Killer Instinct”. Don’t look at this as a sequel as it is the second half of the story. The film is basically the exact same style as both parts are filmed by director Jean-Francois Richet. Together they make a higly entertaining crime saga of one of the most ruthless and evil criminals of the last fifty years.
Vincent Cassel is once again mesmerizing. I can’t say enough good things about this man. Look for him in the upcoming “Black Swan” directed by Darren Aronofsky.
After a summer of mostly lacklustre action films it is a pleasure to see a movie that is not cut together so fast that it becomes incomprehensible. I earlier complained that the story jumps from major even to major event without much filler in between. The second half of the story fills in some of the blanks.
