“Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood” finds Jason Voorhees awakened from the dead again to murder unsuspecting teenagers by the dozens. There is a new twist this time that makes it more entertaining than some of the previous entires. One of the teenagers is telekinetic, and can move things with her mind when she is emotionally distraught. This power actually brings Jason back to life as he is chained to a rock at the bottom of Crystal Lake. Years earlier this teen accidentally killed her father with her powers in the same place. What a coincidence.
Kudos to you if you figured out that there will be a final battle between Jason and the telekinetic teen. Actually it is probably the most entertaining part of the film. Jason finally meets someone who can toss him around. That is after more than an hour of brutal murders committed by Jason as he tears through a private birthday party.
There is not a lot that can be said about a seventh entry in to a slasher series. You either enjoyed it or you didn’t and I was entertained enough to recommend it. Not to the casual viewer but to fans who have followed this series from the beginning.
