“Goldfinger” is when the James Bond series started to become more of a cartoon. The film is named after the main antagonist, Auric Goldfinger. The villains female companion is named Pussy Galore. This should give you some ideas of what the film is about.
Auric Goldfinger is obsessed with gold. He even uses it as a weapon when he dips a lady in pure gold to kill her. His plans aren’t too ambitious as he just wants to rob Fort Knox of all it’s gold. His main body guard is the fan favorite Oddjob. He is a deadly Korean man who can cut the heads off statues with his hat as well as crush golf balls with his hands. Him and Bond have a memorable fight sequence at the end of the film.
As much as I enjoyed “Goldfinger” I did kind of find it getting too far away from the tone of the first two films, including my personal favorite “From Russia With love”. At one point Bond is strapped to a table as a laser beam moves slowly closer to his manhood. This is when the classic line of “Do you expect me to talk? No Mr. Bond I expect you to die!” is spoken.
